To Central Govt Office

1.  Fill the sample RTI application with below details,
  •  Name and address of the applicant with signature
  • Date of Application
  • Ask required information
2.  Pay 10rs of IPO in post office with below details, (You can also go for DD or Bankers cheque)
  •  Pay to: Accounts officer
  • Office of: __________________(Respective Department)
  •  Post office at: ______________(Respective place)
  •  Fill - from address in IPO
3.  Send speed post/register post to passport office with below address,
  • Central Public Information Officer,

          ____________

          ____________
4.  Please keep counterfoil of IPO, photocopy of RTI and receipt of speed/register post with you.

To State Govt Office

1.  Fill the sample RTI application with below details,
  • Name and address of the applicant with signature
  • Date of Application
  • Ask required information
2.  Pay 10rs in form of Court fee stamp/DD/Bankers Cheque or IPO in post office with below details,
  • Pay to: _____________(Check with PIO)
  • Office of: ___________(Repective Departments name)
  • Post office at: __________(Respective city)
  •  Fill - from address in IPO
3.  Send speed post/register post to passport office with below address,
          State Public Information Officer,(Under RTI Act 2005),
          ____________
          ____________
          ____________

4.  Please keep counterfoil of IPO/DD/Bankers Cheque(as applicable), photocopy of RTI and receipt of speed/register post with you.


Please note that court fee stamp is acceptable only for State Government offices and NOT for Central Government offices.






1. Submit first appeal after 30 days and before 60 days (40 - 70days in case of third party is involved or 35 - 65 days if application is transferred to different department)

2. If there is no response even after first appeal, go for second appeal from 30 - 90 days after filing first appeal.
